Note

Traipsing at a couple of 6 day areas.

Not a stitch after all. Abdominal strain? Persistent anyhow.

Trail race (Potarch Headtorch race) 44:07 [5] 8.3 km (5:19 / km) +184m 4:47 / km
shoes: Mudclaw 300 b/r

Sort of pleased with this .. but not
Went well enough on the long track out and was where I kind of wanted to be with usual folk ahead and behind. Kept SaraH in sight all the way up to the trig and just about caught her at the foot of the second, and rougher, climb. She probably had 5s on me at the top but that's when a really bad stitch set in. HazelW went past whilst I was barely moving, but soon after the stitch wore off so spent the whole of the long track on the way back trying to catch her...and failing. Think it probably cost me a minute judging from respective speeds through kilometres 6, 7 and 8.
Don't usually get stitches.

Orienteering race (DNC #13 Scolty) 34:00 [3]
shoes: Mudclaw 300 b/r

Forest very cut up by forest monsters and muddy after the recent deluges. Nice and steady with no major misses but a fair bit of standing about in the vicinity and looking about.
Better this week and hence more enjoyable.

Trail 30:00 [3]

Aboyne Academy RC
Bit of a walking wounded session today. Two dropouts after the first loop and an invalid case late on. Unusual. Rather disrupted things.
Felt somewhat damaged myself but fortunately nothing appears significant.

Forfar Multi-terrain Half
More of a cross country race in large parts as a result of the puddles and muddy, very slippery tracks.
Started off in a serious hail storm. That fortunately stopped fairly soon but the underfoot conditions got worse from 7 or 8k onwards. Sore right adductor towards the end, no doubt down to the slipping about all over the shop. Should have worn Mudclaws. Happy enough though given the conditions.
Interesting way of running a half though and the food spread after was worth all the effort.
