XC Skiing 2:42:00 [3] 25.0 km (6:29 / km) +537m 5:51 / km

Puggled
Baerumsmarka day and not an easy wax day.
T-bane and then walk to Fossum.

Fossum, Ostervann, up to Abortjernet and Triungsvannet and high point at Tjaeregrashogda at 485. Then back the same way. Really tough to get the wax right today. Started with red, switched to blue and then struggled with balling snow. Need to learn to skate like c then no such problems. Lots of climb today too and lovely deep and fresh snow in the higher forest.

XC Skiing 2:10:00 [3] 17.62 km (7:23 / km) +297m 6:48 / km

Red wax; two red planks; plenty snow and falling; empty tracks. A little blue sky and a couple of degrees colder and it would have been excellent. Brilliant to be back in the Nordmarka.

Frognerseteren, Tryvannstua, Blankvann, Kobberhaughhytta - obligatory sjokolade kaka og kaffe - Lorenseter, Ullevalseter and back down to Sognsvann.

With c.

Toes fine after stubbing on Wednesday. Some right achilles soreness from the boots but don't think it's much.

Orienteering race (DNC Muir of Dinnet) 39:12 [4] 3.0 km (13:04 / km) +150m 10:27 / km
shoes: XTalon 212

Tough week, needed to be back promptly, and forgetting my insoles didn't help so ran Short tonight.

Loved it. Slow at times but pretty clean. No doubt lost time on a couple of safe banana routes. Smashing place and smashed my big toe off a boulder early on. Ice pack hopefully doing the business just now.

Orienteering (Sluie Brown) 1:28:00 [3] 8.1 km (10:52 / km)
shoes: XTalon 212

Really enjoyed this. Set off steady expecting a Kerridge epic. Lasted the distance pretty well in spite of the last tough loop through the recent workings. Didn't orienteer very well though and several significant misses, partly triying to run away from C McL after I caught her at about 5.

Sluie is a great forest, just a shame about the bracken in summer. Great run out in bright sunshine.
