Trail 1:33:00 [3]
shoes: ORoc 340

Exploring Arntilly Wood.
Corsedardar War Memorial, small loop above Finzean House, then up to the Caper enclosure, down to Murley then round north side of Arntilly and back. Some smashing bits of woodland up there, including some nice detail. Still some icy snow around. Slow and steady. Still somewhat tired after the early part of the week.

Note

Another day off. Won't do harm. Too busy going to Stoney and Insch. Letting the knee and face damage from Wednesday heal. The mental scars too. :-)

Note
(rest day)

R&R needed. Stretching required. A day away from the best Deeside has to offer.

Orienteering race (DNC Inchmarnoch) 1:08:00 [3]
shoes: ORoc 340

Ouch. Seriously embarrassingly bad. Not alone though. Lost the plot somewhere in the middle, smashed my knee off something, scratched my face, got cramp in right calf and all in all had a fabulous time. Actually it was fun but found Inchmarnoch a real challenge at night. Need to have another go sometime!

Can't complain ..Birsemore Sunday, Glen Dye Monday and Inchmarnoch Wednesday. What's tomorrow?

Trail / Road Run 50:06 [3]
shoes: Saucony Progrid(Blue)

5x Corsee Hill with K. She wiped me out...I was tired...my excuse and I'm sticking too it. Half in the light.

Slight soreness. Think from right glute rather than hamstring.

Note

Hamstring niggling. Think Thursdays stretching is to blame. Need to be careful.

Orienteering (DNC Glen Dye) 58:00 [3]
shoes: ORoc 340

Rearranged race from a bad weather day.
Through all the best bits of Glen Dye although forestry workings have generated a heap of nasty muddy rutted tracks.
Poor choice of round the path to 1; safe through 4 but miss at 5; ok 6-9 then set off towards 11 but corrected it reasonably quickly. 10-12 fine and caught GL. Misread the streams at 16 so an extra crossing needed. 21 was the worst miss of the night, a little confused by the forest workings. Enjoyed the race with GL from 12 on.

Hamstring ok once warmed up.

Warm up/down 10:00 [3]
shoes: ORoc 340

Pre CSC. Barely 10 mins I think.

Orienteering race (CSC Birsemore) 55:36 [3] 5.7 km (9:45 / km)
shoes: ORoc 340

No idea how this would go and was reasonably satisfied with my orienteering although to be truthful it was mainly pretty straightforward. No mistakes to speak of, although banana at 9 going slightly low, then slightly hesitant at 12. Minor stoppage to give assistance to EM between 3 and 4. All of 10 seconds. Thought i was slow on the hills but will wait to see the splits for the evidence. Shame we didn't use the main technical stuff on the hill. Happy enough. Great weather day.
