Orienteering race (JK day 2 Kyloe) 1:08:49 [5]
shoes: VJ Twister

Poor route choice 1 to 2 and then executed it badly?parallel error on forest roads and nearly ended up in OOB wildlife area ? saved by a sign. Lost me 8 mins believe it or not?only 2-3 mins apart from that.

Orienteering race (JK Day 1 Sprint) 19:07 [5]
shoes: Asics Gel Trail Sensor

A few hesitations, one mistake of 15 secs and lost about 30s on second last..ended up 1 mins and 14s down - not unhappy with my speed considering. Enjoyable enough but seemed to be missing something that Edinburgh and Forres had. Biggest challenge was which motorway underpass to choose.
Ended up 12th. D 20th in 21E, T dq?d for missing control out and K calf problem.

Left my lighter shoes behind but still.

Time for a rest for a couple of days.

Trail / Road Run 31:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Trail Sensor

Lunchtime up to Hazlehead, small loop and back. Sluggish going out the way but way better later on. Starting to feel far more spritely, maybe not really in time for the JK but who knows. Bit cold for shorts today though.

Trail / Terrain Run 35:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Cumulus

Crathes loop in evening sunshine. Good tempo for me as I was with dc, and I'd like to say he was going at a good tempo too but the reality was he was jogging. Enjoyable....and not often I run twice in a day (Stirling sprint excepted).

Gym 30:00 [3]
shoes: VJ Twister

Nice gentle lunchtime session of spinning and stretching designed to get over the weekends excesses. Feeling pretty good.

Orienteering race (SOL1 - Mill of Fortune) 1:16:00 [3]
shoes: VJ Twister

First "proper" length O race since before Christmas and felt OK ..or the calf did..which was clearly the main thing. Plenty more work to do in terms of speed and stamina but there's the rest of the year for that. The main thing is it was ok...and unlike some folk I quite enjoyed it, just a different sort of challenge from some races. Thought the area was generally pretty good with a lot of variety..maybe I'm used to Norway rough and tough on aged legs and bodies...this wasn't.

Lost a whole heap of time at 3, seemed to be far higher than I expected it to be..not seen the splits but could have been 5 mins or more. 13 was another couple, having gone up the wrong ditch , took the long way round to 14, ran out of 21 the wrong way...all in all possibly nine or ten minutes...but no complaints although have to admit that the colours were not easy to read in the dark wood.

Pleased as felt strong enough to cope in spite of lack of time in terrain. Embarrassingly kept overtaking Graeme Mac...about 4 times. He was sure and steady , I wasn't.
