Gym 40:00 [3]
shoes: Reebok Premier RoadPlus

Refreshed my local gym induction...probably 15 years since the last one, so also did a fairly boring but non-impact session of:
30 mins: hard effort on the x-trainer
10 mins: rowing

Note

So it's snowing. As it does in February. Not infrequently as it happens in some parts of the UK. Makes complete and utter nonsense of having a British Champs in 3 weeks time and even before that 2 other FCC races (of course in the deep south). So what chance of getting anything valid out of those events? There's a fair chance that for some folk BOC will be the first event of the year, other than very local stuff. Rant.

Note

Wandered about in deep snow in Glen Dye whilst K was running. Smashing snow and sun.

XC Skiing 1:00:00 [3]

Couple of laps of Banchory Golf Course in great conditions. Was going to head for Clash but thought I'd test the calf more locally first....and it was so good I stayed. Got the waxing right although got a bit slippy once the sun starting warming things up.

Couple of other folk out too putting the terrain to better use than it normally gets. Gave the calf a good stretch too.

Gym 30:00 [3]
(injured) shoes: Reebok Premier RoadPlus

That's better.
Mixture of bike, cross-trainer and rowing...with only slight calf tenderness. All is not yet lost.

Swim 50:00 [3]

Banchory Pool 100 x 20m. Mix of front crawl and breast stroke. I'm sure my front crawl is improving but tend to get cramp doing it eventually. Certainly my breathing is improving and it all seems a little more fluent.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

See if ibuprofen and resting up properly help any. At least I didn't miss the DNC...snowed off.

Stretching 10:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Trail Sensor

In gym at work.

Gym 35:00 [3]

Cross trainer - 25 mins
Weights: 10 mins

Note
(injured)

Went up to Scolty in the evening to provide moral support for Kirsty's hill sessions. Found it "closed" but that didn't stop us. Wandered about in the dark for a bit wishing I could get out there at running speed with her. At least it might have helped her not to get spooked by big forestry machines appearing out of the dark!

Stretching 15:00 [1]

Core & Strength 35:00 [3]
(injured)

Mixture of stuff at home

Note

To the physio...no impact stuff for a week so its back to the stretching, gym, biking and swimming, see how we go.

Running 10:00 [3]
(injured) shoes: Asics Gel Trail Sensor

Jogging at the track at Alexander Park whilst K was doing flat grass intervals. Calf still not good.
