Banchory pool lane session until I got cramp..effects of being out so long at DNC I guess.

Orienteering (DNC4 - Tyrebagger) 1:30:00 [3]
shoes: VJ Twister

Not sure how long I took but I was shocking. The map wasn't great and I couldn't find the pits but there's no getting away from the fact I wasn't very good! I don't expect I was alone but no excuses.

It was pretty physical in the dead bracken, the heather and the brashings, but it was a fine night and reasonably warm once running. At least I was running alright even if Big Jon and Ali R left me behind pretty easily.

Note

Postscript on the DNC
Having set out early, way before anyone else pretty much, and then missed big time at the pit at 2, then got throroughly confused by the deer fence between 2 & 3, by the time I'd found that pit at 3 I was dead in the water. Quite proud of myself in retrospect for not calling it a night before I'd got as far as 4...I nearly did.

Have to say I found the contours on the map, at night, exceedingly difficult to read, but that may be thats because my ageing, fading eyesight is ageing and fading quicker than I wish. Still no excuses though!

Trail / Terrain Run 1:10:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Trail Sensor

Nice run in the rain at Crathes. Two laps of the estate at a real good pace but getting pretty dark by the end. Glad of the boardwalk otherwise I would have been swimming in places.

One for you hopalong!
