XC Skiing 1:30:00 [3] 11.0 km (8:11 / km)

Nice sunny day but pretty windy. Headed round Trysilfjellet with T and K. They headed back from the cabin at Grønskaret but I continued over the pretty windy and icy col and down to Trysil Høyfjellssenter. Had to bale once on the last icy downhill stretch. Then found my way across numerous pistes and back to the Skihytte....really poor marking of the løypes but made it. Not a route I'd recommend. Waxing wasn't great either..maybe it was partly stripped off by the icy snow ploughing.

Back to Oslo p.m.

XC Skiing 1:15:00 [3] 11.5 km (6:31 / km)

Cold and windy so aborted a high level trip from the Skihytta, instead did three laps of the trim-løype. Put the boot in a bit at times.

XC Skiing 1:30:00 [3] 18.6 km (4:50 / km)

With Tom, a quick lap of the trim-løype (wax not working again), then slapped some more red on, headed across the road and proceeded to get pretty nigh on perfect grip all the way up the steepish climb to Grønskaret...weird - the strange science that is smøring. Too cold to stop there long so flew back down the same way...no problems staying in the løypes. Met 5 dog-sled teams on parallel tracks - cool!

XC Skiing 1:30:00 [2]

After yesterdays messing about with the wrong waxes thought we'd spend some time at the biathlon arena doing some ski skating practice. That's one way of avoiding the wax problem. Anyway I seem to get my left arm confused with my right and right leg confused with my left so I'm not very good at ski skating. T and K are way better, K always has been (like C) but T is pretty good now too. Hmmm...

XC Skiing 2:15:00 [3] 16.0 km (8:26 / km)

That's better! Far better! Great sunny weather so T and I did a lap of the trim-løype and then headed across the road and up the steep (very) hill that goes up through the pistes to the Skihytta. Didn't stop there but headed west to to the grill cabin at Grønskaret. Great snow, great sunshine, great views over forested Norway. Then we had the long sweep down and back to the car.

XC Skiing 1:00:00 [3]

Getting the feel for the local langrennsløyper and the Knut biathlon arena at Trysil. The latter is a real switchback under lights and has the potential for some great training sessions with lots of steep hills and sharp turns.

XC Skiing 2:00:00 [3] 17.0 km (7:04 / km)

With Tom skiing "from the door" up the moderate steady climb that is the Ole G-vegen as far as the Trim-løype, which we did a loop of before heading back down. Grip was worse than dire, neither red nor klister did much. rather frustrating.

Trail / Terrain Run 41:00 [3]
shoes: Icebugs

Went moose hunting above Båntjern but drew a blank. Just felt very tired after the last few days.

It's warm, +5 and not forecast to get cooler for a few days either.

XC Skiing 2:15:00 [3]

Tour de hytte på ski i dag.

Frognerseter - Ulevaalseter - Skjennungstua - Studenthytta - Kobberhaughhytta - Tryvannstua - Frognerseter. Weather not quite as good as Friday but snow easier if somewhat slower. Klister worked well. Stopped at Skjennungstua for some sustenance. Pushed it hard as far as there - a lot of climb on that stretch gets the heart rate well up.

Just as well these forests go on for ever as goodness knows how many Norwegians they consume on a Sunday afternoon.
