Fantastisk dag, -8 when I went out. Decided I needed a run more than a ski today. Took lower of the tracks between Sognsvann and Vetakollen, running beside the løypes up Månaskinnsløypa to Lortputt then back via Fuglemyra over Vetakollen. No one skiing that way but met a few heading down to Sognsvann at the track junction at Lortputt.
The sun was sparkling off the deep snow and the narrow track was difficult to run in. Great views over the fjord from the top of Vetakollen, could hear the PA for some competition at Holmenkollen in the distance - think it was snowboarding .
Cut back down towards Båntjern, through deep crusty snow which frustratingly occasionally gave way. Disturbed two moose - good view of them but they didn't hang about. First time we've seen any in the forest there.

Good day to have off. Frognerseter to Ullevaalseter, Nordmarkappellet, Tryvannstua and back to Frognerseter in lovely cloudless skies. Lots of snow but old and pretty icy in places...and being Friday most people at work. Klister worked but I've now truly realised what awful stuff it is...just do not get it on anything it's not supposed to be on. Watched some of the skiers training at Holmenkollen, impressive or what?!

Round Sognsvann from the house with Dave Hirst (visiting from Deeside) - fairly steady as Dave didn't have dobs and there's ice all over the place at present. Don't need to go to NIH to play ice-hockey. Good to get out on a grand evening - fine without headtorches with the snow and floodlights from NIH at 6:30pm. Back to catch Svendsen and Bjorndalen in a Norwegian 1,2 in the 20Km.

Hmmm..sore throat..not good.

Sore rear now too from ending up flat on my back on the ice outside the house.

Down to work - still icy but getting lighter!

Proud of myself for turning down a lift from K&T after Norwegian course and ran home at a very good tempo...got to be a PB, sheet ice and all.

Fog in the valley but bright sunshine burnt it off higher up - made for a short but very picturesque ski with T & K. Went from Stubdal (Damtjern) near Hønefoss, to the cabin at Løvlia and back. Red wax was ok for starters but once it warmed up we struggled a bit. Some nice steep slopes on the way back! Nice day to be out.
