Wasn't desperately looking forward to it but ended up enjoying it no end. Felt somewhat heavy before start. Wobbles in several places and then too low at 6 having gone staright, and then missed 8 in the chequerboard (1 min perhaps). Caught JH at 6 then enjoyed the racing to the end, although I thought (wrongly) I'd got away in that same chequerboard.

Lovely area.

Woke up with back pain. I never get back pain.
Went for broke in the hope it would loosen up so entered Brown. First few seemed ok and then started to get painful over some of the rough stuff. Stuck to tracks after 6 as best I could but eventually got too much and jogged back.

Hmmm...stretching at home me thinks.

Spending rest of the day 6-day planning.

Pre-breakfast again. Down the track to T-junction then right for about 15, then retraced steps as far as rutted "olive" track, up it and home. I could get used to these temperatures.

Out for 4.30 up in the Sierra Blanca from Refugio de Juanar, Ojén, to top of La Concha. Great views north, nothing to seaward side..cloud.

Out for 6 hours, south west of Ronda. Snakes, goats, pomegranates and oranges were the order of the day.

Ronda to Benaojan and Montejaque and back.

Out and back pre-breakfast. Down the track from Los Olivos, left at the bottom onto the concrete road and then along there for about 10 minutes. Great to have sun on my back running through the olive groves. Spanish dogs could take a bit of getting used to - just as well they were all behind fences. the trek back up the hill felt long, ...and hot.

Squeezed in a short spin through what's left of Hill of Banchory to Loirston Loch with T. Short and sweet. Nice evening but getting mighty chilly. Smashing small bit of woodland now especially the part closest to Loirston.

Glen O'Dee. Went out at a good rate - out to the furthest part across the old railway. Not been there for a good long while. The woodland is certainly improving. Enjoyed it, felt to be running well.

Note

Plenty of strength and conditioning in the garden, especially 90 minutes of barrowing and stacking logs. Beats the gym any day, although not sure the back thinks so!

Warm up to start at Forvie. Overcast and mildly breezy but not cold. Not feeling full of energy.

Same old tough Forvie. In fact even tougher after the recent heavy rain. Every bit of ground seemed to have give in it. Enjoyed it but never running well and plenty of mistakes too.

From Inverbervie sea front along through Gourdon harbour and then on path in direction of Johnshaven. Turned around after 21 minutes and retraced steps pretty much. Nice day to be running by the sea - light breeze and nice sun.
