Biking 1:10:00 [3] 10.6 mi (6:36 / mi) +460m 5:49 / mi

Biking up Centennial Drive! I spent some time in the morning phone banking for Biden. I was calling Georgia, and apparently I talk WAYYYYY too quickly for most Georgians to understand me, which led to a few amusing conversations. I got hung up on a lot, but hopefully this is helping at least a little bit. The air was really good again, and I was excited to get outside once I was done with my self-imposed phone banking date. It was also pretty foggy, and the higher up the hill I got the chunkier the fog got until it was debateably raining at the top. There was actually water dripping off my helmet. Hopefully some of the fires got misted on, too! Super good to get out!

Running 30:00 [3] 3.1 mi (9:41 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 23

Running with Sam and Presto after lab! Woohoo! The air was actually good tonight, and I felt FANTASTIC! I knew running didn't feel good on the days when the air was really bad, but I hadn't appreciated how sort of meh I was feeling on the days when the air was sort of middling. The air was finally actually really good tonight, and running was awesome. The past few days were pretty crazy in terms of lab, too (14h day yesterday), so I was expecting to feel pretty tired. It turns out my legs are kind of weak now from so many weeks of taking runs really easy, though, because for the first time in weeks my legs got tired on the uphill before my lungs started hurting. It was a good feeling :-).

Running with Sam and Presto after not-lab! We squeezed in a quick run between when I got trained to phone bank for Biden and a teleparty!

Running 42:28 [3] 3.9 mi (10:53 / mi) +300m 8:47 / mi
shoes: Brooks Running 23

Running with Sam and Presto at Tilden on the Quarry Trail! I had a few Cornell-related meetings (one work, one a potential apartment - finding a place to live is turning out to be more of a challenge than we'd hoped...), and some errands to run, so it was close to 5pm before we got out for a run. Luckily the air had continued to improve the entire day, so it was almost down into the good range by the time we headed out. Doing the run I did yesterday probably would have been fine, but this run is SUPER STEEP and my lungs were not having the first uphill section. That said, I never got the stabby, stabby pains in my head or chest - just sort of achy burning lungs and throat, so yay? It was really good to get out, and the air was clear enough to see the fog rolling in with SF and the Golden Gate Bridge poking out above it, so that was really nice. Good to get out!

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Stretching with a goodly amount of coughing. Perhaps too much lung stress this weekend. There's a chance of rain in the forecast for next weekend, and I've definitely got my fingers crossed for that!
