Running 40:00 [3] 3.7 mi (10:49 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 23

Running with Presto up the hill! The air was steadily improving the entire day, and I finally scooted out around 4pm figuring that I'd better take the win on air quality. Win is actually maybe a strong word for the air quality. The AQI was technically under 100, but only just, and my body was NOT HAPPY. I was getting stabbing pains in my head and chest and sort of getting light headed and stuff, but for some reason I kept going because I haven't been outside enough for a few days. Presto was also displeased with this running plan, and was super draggy the entire time. I'm not sure either of us really enjoyed it, but I think we both appreciated having gone for a run later in the evening.

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Normal stretching after flopping around the house for a bit.

Biking 30:00 [3] 7.0 mi (4:17 / mi) +150m 4:01 / mi

Biking to Tilden after lab! The air quality is definitely starting to drop now and it was oddly warm, but I thought it would be good enough to slip out for a bike ride tonight. I also didn't manage to leave the house until 6:45, so it started getting dark while I was still on my way uphill. I decided to turn around before getting to Inspiration Point tonight because even with bike lights, it just doesn't seem like a great idea to bike in Tilden at night. I probably waited too long to turn around - there were some cars speeding in the opposite direction that were only mostly staying on their side of the road, but it was good to get some time in on the bike anyway!

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Normal stretching.

Running 32:08 [3] 3.1 mi (10:22 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 23

Running with Presto after lab! I wasn't planning to run today because I'm still sort of worried about my foot with running 2 days in a row, but it was cool and foggy and the forecast is for smoke tomorrow and my foot was feeling good today, so I decided to give it a shot. It was good! Yay! Maybe my llama-induced foot bone bruise/fracture is finally healing. Presto was pretty excited to be outside in the cool fog. It was completely dark by the time I got home tonight, so no sunset for me (although it was foggy enough, that I doubt I would have seen any sunset regardless). Good to get out!

Strength 5:00 [3]

Normal abs.

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Normal stretching while watching the presidential debate (which we recorded so we could watch after lab). Wow. That was....terrible... I fed Presto dinner just as the debate started, and he refused to eat and insisted on sitting practically on top of me on the couch instead. This is very not normal, but I guess there was just too much shouting on TV and too much stress in the apartment for happy Presto eating. (He did eventually eat dinner later in the evening.) Poor Presto.

Running 31:50 [3] 3.1 mi (10:16 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 23

Running with Presto after lab! Yay! The marine layer came back or a cold front came through or something generally pleasant in the temperature department! The air quality was also really good tonight, and now that the Glass Fire is destroying Napa, I'm expecting the air quality to start rapidly dropping in the next day or two, so I headed out for a run. It was dark by the time I got out, so I just did the shortest loop, which has a few street lights, so it isn't completely dark. I suppose I could just wear a headlamp, but my head already feels like it has too much stuff on it with the mask. Presto was pretty excited to get out and only dragged a little bit. I was feeling surprisingly good, too, so it was good to get out!

Strength 6:00 [3]

Normal abs plus 40 extra tuckups because I got distracted...

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Normal stretching.

Biking 1:10:00 [3] 10.6 mi (6:36 / mi) +460m 5:49 / mi

Biking up Centennial Drive! I had to go into lab to do something relatively quick this morning, and then got stuck in lab for a while when I realized that one of our incubators had gone down. Ugh. I eventually finished dealing with the incubator fiasco and made it home. It's super hot today, but the air quality is going down and there's a red flag warning, so there will probably be more fires soon, so I decided to get out for a bike ride while the getting out is still acceptable.

It was really nice to be out even though the air wasn't great. The heat was pretty intense, but evaporation is working like gangbusters today, so it wasn't as oppressive as it could have been. Good to get out!

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Stretching after some bubble tea.
