Running 32:25 [3] 3.1 mi (10:27 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 20

Super slow run up the hill with Presto after lab! This was probably too much. I was tired, but feeling kind of ok, but around 2 miles in started wishing very strongly that I was done running. It was only reminding myself that it would take me a lot longer to get home and horizontal if I walked home than if I just ran home that made it possible to continue. I'll be happy to be healthy again.

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Skipped abs tonight and just did some stretching. I am tired now.

Running 18:59 [3] 1.8 mi (10:33 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 20

"Running" with Presto after lab! I was feeling pretty terrible after lab today - achy head, hips, assorted other joints, but it was a gorgeous day and I thought maybe just spending a little time getting the joints moving would be helpful. So, Presto and I went out for a super slow jog just a little way up the hill and back. The first 5 minutes were pretty horrible with spiking pain through my head, but then things eased up and I was actually feeling almost human (if exhausted) by the end.

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Normal stretching.

Note

Ugh. Sick. Turns out bringing a thousand people from all over the world together in one place and then not having them sleep enough is a great way to incubate viruses. Alas.

Red at Joe Grant County Park with Presto! Sam met me in San Jose on the way back from the conference and we headed out to today's BAOC meet. I was exhausted from the conference to start, so I knew today was going to be pretty slow, and my body did not disappoint. The course was super steep with lots and lots of side hilling. It was a lot of fun, but I was slow... I had a few pretty serious misses on two controls where I was very close but was a bit confused by the vegetation mapping and couldn't quite wrap my mind around where the control should be. I also got a pretty substantial blister on the bottom of my foot from all the side hilling and then was unmotivated to run very fast the rest of the time. Still lots of fun!

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Normal stretching back home after meeting up with a bunch of former and current labmates that were in town for the conference. Presto spent the entire picnic playing with a bunch of 5-8 year olds, which was completely adorable. Presto was the perfect mixture of safe and scary for them. They wanted to pet him, but they'd do it sort of from a far and only pet his butt. Every time he turned around to look at them, they'd all scream and then when he turned back around they'd all crowd back around him again. He had a pack of 4 kids following him around for several hours :-).
