Oak Park mass start race with Presto! And back to Stockton for another day of sprints! The course was a series of loops with 4 map exchanges. I wasn't quite ready to start when we started, so it was a bit of a mess on the way to the first control, but I just tucked into the pack. I'd sort of figured out what was going on by the time we got to the control and headed off on my first loop. Apparently, I had exactly the same map order as Steve Gregg, so I was running near him for pretty much the entire race. Everyone had the same last loop, and Sam tucked in behind me around the 3rd to last control. I was sure he was going to take off at the last or second to last control, so I was gathering myself for a sprint finish when Presto decided to stop to poop. Le sigh :-). I might have tried to catch Sam if we hadn't had a race in the afternoon, but I ended up just letting him go. Fun, fun!
Unfortunately, Rex lost his car keys somewhere in the park, so after the race, we spent about 2 hours combing the park for his keys. We never found them, but AAA came and with some help from an orienteer, they did manage to unlock the car.

Red sprint at Delta College with Presto! Ok, this was truly awesome! The campus was full of little nooks and crannies with lots of tunnels and multiple levels and was just generally an awesome sprint! I had 2 big mistakes in the tunnels. I can't exactly remember which controls - I think 13 and then the last control to the finish, where I just got completely turned around. I also got vaguely confused by a gate that was marked as open but was actually closed, but I recovered pretty quickly from that. Otherwise, I had an awesome time - definitely one of the best sprints I've ever run. Fun weekend!
