Orienteering 1:07:22 [3] *** 10.0 km (6:44 / km)
36c shoes: Brooks Running 18

Mission Artscape 10k with Sam and Presto! Rex's events are always so fun! This one was a score-O with questions to answer about a bunch of different murals in the Mission. Sam, Presto, and I had the fastest 10k time :-). Running these as a team is definitely the way to go. My job was navigation, Sam's job was keeping track of the questions, and Presto's job was to look cute. To make the day even better, after the race, we headed down to Palo Alto for a cookout at Tori and Carlo's! Yay for orienteering weekends!

Stretching 15:00 [3]

Stretching a bit at Tori and Carlo's and then a full stretch at home.

Running 32:19 [3] 3.1 mi (10:25 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 18

Running with Presto after lab! I actually made it out of lab at a reasonable time today, but I had to go to the grocery store on the way home, so I ended up running at sunset anyway. Sunset was nice a pretty, though, so it was all good!

Running up the hill was work tonight. I am exhausted. We're collaborating with a lab 2 floors above us, and I've been working in their lab for the past couple of days. Learning a new, complex, multiday protocol with lots of fiddly steps is always kind of mentally tiring. However, I'm also supervising a tech, so during almost every incubation, I'd run down 2 flights of stairs to help her and then run back up 2 flights of stairs to continue my work. Just to make things even more insane, the lab we're collaborating with is half at UC Berkeley and half at Berkeley National Lab, so today we had to troupe over to the national lab (on the other side of the city) to finish up the experiment because their equipment is split between the two locations. I'm crossing my fingers that the data looks good!

Strength 5:00 [3]

My hip flexor/lower abs starting complaining during the first set of tuck-ups today, so I did planks to replace the tuck-ups. I think I will not do tuck-ups for a week to see if everything can calm down a bit.

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Stretching after lying on the floor for a bit.

Running 31:09 [3] 3.1 mi (10:03 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 18

Running with Sam and Presto after lab! We actually made it out before dark! Woohoo! This is a target that's getting easier and easier to make, but somehow it is still eluding us. I am going to try to make an effort to get out of lab earlier because this is getting ridiculous.

Strength 5:00 [3]

Abs. Things are feeling better but are still not perfect. I only did 10 tuckups in the second set before deciding that pushing things was silly and then just replaced that set of tuckups with 30s plank instead, which felt fine.

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Normal stretching.

Running 33:55 [3] 3.3 mi (10:17 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 18

Easy-peasy run with Presto up the hill! I just wanted to get Presto out for a quick run before my concert, so we just headed up the hill. My legs were definitely tired from yesterday, but otherwise this run was extremely nice.

Strength 5:00 [3]

Normal abs minus one set of tuckups. My hip flexors/abs felt better than Thursday but not perfect, and I saw no reason to push things.

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Normal stretching.
