Running 30:06 [3] 3.2 mi (9:24 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 17

Running with Presto on the firetrail! I decided to try running on actually flat ground today to see how my foot feels. It was generally ok, but starting getting ever-so-slightly tingly around minute 28. This is WAY better than the burning pain from before, but still probably means that 30 minutes is a bit long for the moment. Presto and I were both feeling pretty slow, but it was nice to be out in the woods for a bit today!

Strength 16:00 [3]

Normal abs + stretchy band glutes with an extra, new exercise thrown in.

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Normal stretching.

Biking 50:00 [3] 12.3 mi (4:04 / mi)

Biking to and from PT.

Strength 5:00 [3]

Testing strength and a few exercises at PT. I do have a pinched nerve somewhere. The question is whether it is only pinched in my leg/ankle or whether there's also some lower back component. The PT thinks I should be back to normal in a month or so. Until then, I'm not supposed to run long enough to make my foot tingle or burn, which kind of kills the orienteering plans for the weekend. (Boo...)

It was a bit difficult to get an answer out of him about whether going on short runs that don't make anything tingle are fine or just not as bad as runs that actually make things tingle, but he said I could run as long as there was no tingling, so...I guess maybe they're ok? It was just hard to decide if he just thought I was going to go running regardless, so it was better to give me some limits or whether he really thought it was ok.

Running 29:31 [3] 2.6 mi (11:21 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 17

Super easy-peasy run with Presto! I was supposed to check out how running on flat ground felt. It was dark, so it was a bit hard to find any flat ground, so this was only mostly flattish. I was planning to go for 30 minutes because the PT said to, but 29 seconds short of 30 minutes I felt a tingle. Sigh. I will try to find some actually flat ground this weekend.

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Normal stretching + some extra nerve glides that this PT prescribed to go along with my cruciatus stretches.

Swimming 50:00 [3] 2.0 km (25:00 / km)

Swimming at Strawberry Canyon Pool! Turns out when it's not over 100, the pool is much less crowded. I had a lane to myself this time, which was nice. The water is still super gross with disturbingly low visibility and hair floating around and things. I'm not sure how they kept the city pools nice all summer in NC, but they could teach Berkeley a thing or two. Perhaps it involved a disturbingly large number of chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer?

Anyway, another good swim. My foot seems to be improving. I could do breaststroke today, although I avoided doing too much of it to keep from aggravating my foot, so it was again mostly flutter kick with a bit of freestyle thrown in.

Strength 14:00 [3]

Normal abs and stretchy band glutes.

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Normal stretching.
