Strength 5:00 [3]

Carrying Presto's 30lbs bag of dog food about a mile. I then immediately went to go get the H1N1 shot. My left arm is now sore as I noticed while inoculating 32 cultures in my frantic effort to get something useful done before going on vacation.

Orienteering 20:00 [3] *** 2.8 km (7:09 / km)
spiked:8/9c shoes: Brooks Running 3

CSU training with Ross and Presto at Harvard before the training meeting. The course was a Circuit-O (strength stuff at every control). The total time is correct, but I'm completely guessing on this breakdown of running vs. strength.

Strength 25:20 [3]

Lots of core and leg stuff. I thought the ground would be completely frozen and thus not a problem to lie on for core stuff, but alas, somehow it was not. It started snowing lightly partway through, which I noticed as I lay on my back staring up into a light flutter kicking. I think we caused some amusement to the Harvard-ites. Someone thought we were doing planks out in the cold on a dare :-).

Running 33:07 [3] 4.0 mi (8:17 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 3

I was feeling pretty tired after a long day at lab, but Presto was raring to go, so I decided we should go on a run. We started out at an easy jog down Broadway. We cut through MIT and then came out at 77 Mass Ave at basically exactly the same time as a Number 1 bus. I decided to race it to Harvard. I was doing really well for a while and got pretty far ahead of it, but then I got a couple of red lights, and the bus started gaining on me. We got to Trowbridge St. at the same time, and then things started working in the bus's favor. It got a green light at Trowbridge (as did I, obviously) and only had to make a quick stop to let people off. Then it skipped the Quincy stop, so it was basically driving at full speed from Trowbridge to Harvard, and I just couldn't keep up. It made the run back a lot more fun, though!

Running 54:07 [3] 6.1 mi (8:52 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 3

Running with Presto in the rain on a quest for Chanukah candles. Having already checked out the stores around here realizing I was out of old Chanukah candles, I decided I'd better go find some. I ran down to MIT and then around campus a bit hoping that the Hillel had left some candles out for people to take. I couldn't find any, so I headed over to the Star Market, tied Presto to the bike rack, and made a quick tour of the store. I found the candles in the spice section...go figure...and decided to run back by the river, which involved climbing under a train. I got back home 10 minutes before the library closed (which I wanted to visit), dropped Presto off, grabbed my library card, and ran to the library and back. Once home, I started doing abs stuff and stretching and was pleased that I'd discharged all my outdoor errands with one run, when I realized I still had to go to lab. I debated running there, but since I had already cooled off significantly and the rain seemed to be getting worse, decided to put on warmer clothes and trudge over there separately.

Strength 10:00 [3]

Normal abs stuff.
