Orienteering 1:06:43 [3] *** 4.4 km (15:10 / km) +165m 12:46 / km
20c shoes: Mizuno Ascend

I once again spent the morning setting up and working starts, and then set off for my run. I felt significantly less stressed about the start today, though, so I think I was better able to switch over into orienteering mode. I was very careful to 1 and took some time to get into the map. Unfortunately, I then managed to run past number 3 about 8 times before finally actually seeing it. I missed 4 by a bit, but relocated pretty quickly off a nearby swamp and then on 5, I once again didn't see the control (I was standing on top of the cliff and didn't see the flag when I peered over the edge) and went on a bit of a wild goose chase. Things were ok after that until 10 when I started searching too high up the hill, and then things were mostly ok until the end. I did have a sort of annoying route choice moment when I had carefully decided how to go to 15 and found a fairly deep, unmapped swamp in my way, which I then had to run/swim/wade my way through. Anyway, I was still pleased with how things went in general, and after the run I got interviewed by NPR!!
