slept:8.0 shoes: Asics Gel Windhawk #2

Longer run, Porter, Coit, Limbb, fulwood lane, dropped to Riv dams to climb fox hagg, Coppice and the stables. Trying to keep it fairly honest, especially on the flat. Not easy but not working hard.

I must admit I haven't enjoyed the last 5 days and been pretty low. In hindsight maybe we should have stuck at it, though I still think a big fade was in the offing. In fact pre-OMM I wasn't really comfortable courtesy of the FRA farrago. Thankfully Hannah kept me fairly sane this week but I must have been a drain at times.

Anyway, spent last night planning my attack on a spring Marathon - an interesting juggling act between my many interests. I think it's time I tried some different things, and they should feed well into Fell Running in the future.

Absolutely gagging for the winter.

Running - Trail race 17:42 [5] 4.83 km (3:40 / km) +29m 3:33 / km

Nat XC relays L3. (Connor, Pete, me, John Birch)

Set off just behind Rich Robinson. Powered the first climb in the woods to get on him, maybe a bit too soon, then got in front and resolved to keep him in my back pocket, which I dd. Strong on the hills and OK on the flatter bits. Plenty of meat to chew through/lap until the last km or so. 15s slower than last year on a tackier course (still fast mind). Gained 12 places, think I only lost 1.

Some satisfying things to take (especially given my last 'faster' running was a terrible parkrun in early Sept.

Team 48th which is OK considering of the 4 of us we'd probably be split across the 3rd/4th teams if we had the entire HHS stable to select from.

Running - Road 9:23 [1] 1.88 km (4:59 / km) +7m 4:54 / km

ITW with Craig though the parks. The 'climb' to the top of Fulwood road continues to take me by surprise.

Storth Lane Self Help group with Craig up to Forge Dam and back.
I then did 2 tempo lengths of Bingham (3:41 pace up, 3:20 pace down) and some strides to try and shake my body before Saturday. Felt weird.

Pretty morose atm so likely be a lot of moaning here the next few weeks - log out now!

Note
(rest day)

I suppose a perk of dropping like a little bitch is that there's not too much to recover from. I'm still going to do not a lot this week, more to recover from a mental than physical point of view, though I have a few niggles that could do with resting. I've looked at the FRA calendar and pinpointed a few races in November to get me out there as sitting and stewing wouldn't be the best thing. Also heading to Lanzarote for a half marathon in early December.
I also need to work out whether a marathon next spring is feasible so shall be drafting some plans.
