Note

Drive to the Lakes to spend a cracking day hungover. Saw some hills but didn'the go up them.
For some reason only Toates and myself decided drinking all of Wil'so cocktail concoctions was a good idea. Tequila and hot source was a bad mistake that kept being made.

Bowstones Hilly Road and Trail Race.
Felt alright to start in the lead pair, gaining metres by jumping cattlegrids, but fell back on the climb to Bowstones to 4th. Gained a bit on the descent, the only bit of the race with any interest, before losing all advantage on the remaining flat running.
I can do these flatter faster courses and runnable ascents, but not after the last couple of weeks!

Had planned on an afternoon run but fell asleep for 3.5h instead as body decided rest is best after the last couple of weeks. It's right.

Had something a bit faster planned, but a mixture of body not feeling it, cracking day and a hunger to get some longer runs in whilst I can saw me ditch that. Resolved to push a bit on the hills on a longer one, with Mark keeping me company from Lantern Pike to Mount Famine. Effort was there (especially up the first climb as thought I was running a bit late) even if I was lacking pizzaz. Good long run and required credit in the bank pre-trigger. Cracking day to boot.

Bumped into Tom Brunt on a walk at top of Sandy Heys. Hoping to be back running for Kinder Trial so will be good to see him on the fells this coming season.

Hr is currently quite high on hills and terrain. I blame a mix of cheese, beer and tiredness.
