Attackpoint has proven a social mechanism in addition to a training log. Hammer graciously greeted me upon my ostensible arrival, and Klepperton also learned of my status as a political refugee. A few e-mails later, we met up for a jaunt about High Park. I explicitly chose my apartment location because it was near-ish both the Humber River valley and High Park, so I was excited to do some exploring. Klepperton is a bit faster than me - and my training has been lackluster during my transition, so I was feeling it a bit initially. High Park is an interesting place with some rolling hills, so I think it will be a good spot for routine runs. We need to get a good map of the park; it's about 1.6 sq km and is convenient for a city park.

I am hopeful that Klepperton and I can get into a good training routine. While I have habitual lone wolf characteristics, training partners are invaluable. I am also eager to train with Hammer and the ARK folks. I need to get fast, and complementary to my desire to assimilate into Canadian culture is a desire to be an overt American, trumpeting the freedom* and cultural distinctiveness of the land of my youth.

So yeah, Klepperton and I have plans for the True North Strong and Free.

* Not actually free any more because we suck at government.
