Skyline trail run. Conditions were muggy - a mild 24 C, with a dewpoint of 20 C. I was drenched in sweat, and my body was struggling with both dehydration and cooling. I am weak. After listening to Car Talk, I switched over to a vaguely inspirational music album, which kicked off with Summon the Heroes. It's impossible not to run faster at the key change.

Easy evening run to Alewife followed by 2x9 minute moderate effort bouts. I wasn't quite reaching tempo effort; perhaps this would be Daniels' marathon pace. I would have liked to do some tempo, but I haven't done speed work in a few weeks and want to settle back into it gradually. My pace increased on the second bout. It was dark when I started, and as I didn't have a light, I ran somewhat cautiously.

Conditions were pleasantly cool: 16 C, with a gentle breeze. The new shoes were a little tight yesterday, especially in the right shoe, but my feet felt fine after I loosened the laces a little.
