After watching the World Cup Final (yay Deutschland!) with Megan and getting some work done, I set out on an evening long run. My goal was to run sub 5:00/km - a bit quicker than my previous long run. Conditions were wonderful - a light drizzle, temperature of about 24 C. I experienced some digestive discomfort near the end of my run.

Weekend tempo run. The temperature was about 30 C, which I only fully appreciated when I looked it up on the Internet. I definitely felt its effects - I was overheating and couldn't seem to access the highest gears without penalty.
Workout was 2x10 minute tempo loop, with an optional third if I felt up to it. I did not. Target pace was 4:00/km, but I was a little slow.

The community spirit is laudable and should be encouraged. For future reference, the "Hi barb!" bandwagon consists of two words without all these other paragraphs and comments and such.

Solo interval workout; 10x400 on a 2-minute cycle. My target time was about 80s. I warmed up for about 3 km, including 4x100m strides before starting the workout. The temperature was about 27 C. I took an extra minute rest between bouts 8 and 9. I find that the CSU running section interval workouts long recovery (2-3 minutes) lets me run much faster than I probably should for a strictly VO2 max workout. There was some suffering tonight, though mine pales compared to the collective misery of Brazil after their world cup team was obliterated by Germany 7-1 in the semifinals this afternoon.
I ran with 180 bpm techno, and it turns out I developed blisters on outside of my foot just behind my pinky toe. My F-lites are not as well suited to track running as I had hoped.
