I acquired a pair of compression leg sleeves for my calves from amazon to use for recovery. My legs currently are rested and don't require recovery, but to try a limited controlled experiment, I am wearing the sleeve only on my right leg for an hour or two each day to determine their effect.

My left knee officially hurts when I bend it. I aborted an easy run yesterday because I was afraid something might be wrong. I will ice and rest it today; hopefully it will be better this weekend. If it continues to hurt, I will seek medical attention.

The last games of the season for the Broad Ballerz were today; we had a double header against Anna's Taqueria and Vitamin B12. I had to miss the Anna's game because of a meeting, but I showed up just in time for the B12 match. Attendance by our team has been disappointing; we lacked the commitment to put our best efforts on the field each game. I scored a run and made three solid catches in the outfield, making this one of my best individual games. Unfortunately, we lost by a score of something like 20-2.

A bit of knee discomfort today, perhaps from jumping down so many times last week.

For Canadian nationals, it looks like flying to Buffalo (currently $168) and renting a car may be better than driving for 8 hours each way (gas cost ~$130). Anyone interested in sharing car and accommodation?

Easy cruise around the river. I decided to abort intervals today because my legs seemed to have some minor aches and pains. In particular, my left knee has been agitated, and some quick accelerations today while tossing around a frisbee at lunch didn't seem to help. Once I settled into my run, everything relaxed a bit. I kept it slow and gentle apart from a quick sprint on the Harvard bridge and thought about how to combine protein interaction networks with gene expression correlation networks.

I took a 15 minute ice-ish bath afterward, though the water may have been too warm to be helpful.
