Biking hills (Stationary) 1:05:00 [3] 25.83 km (23.8 kph)
slept:8.0 shoes: 200809 NB Absorb EX 12

I am basically recovered from my cold, though I still clearing out my nose and sinuses each day. My breathing is essentially unaffected, my sinuses don't hurt, and I am not feverish. I was chagrined to see my total training time over the past 7 days fall to zero, so I decided to do a rare gym session. I may take more advantage of it during the winter; right now, I don't feel durable enough to run outside.

I had an hour session on the recumbent exercise bikes with the hills program. I maintained about 90 rpm throughout the workout, average heart rate of about 150. During my workout, I read the January Physics Today.

The last 5 minutes was cool down.

Strength training 30:00 [3]

My weight circuit was relatively short today, and consisted of:

- Bicep curls: 3x10, 30 lbs, each arm
- Lunges: 3x10, holding 60 lbs of weight
- Leg press: 9x12, 150 lbs
- Abdominal leg-swinging device, 3x50 at setting "8."

The leg press I was working with has a neat coupling from the weights to the motion such that it varies the resistance and has settings that focuses the maximum resistance to different parts of the stroke. In particular, the gear is non-circular. Anyway, the settings I used were 3 sets each concentrating the resistance at the beginning, middle and end of the stroke.
