Rogaine race 6:00:00 [4]
(injured)

Marlbrough 6hr rogaine. It was split into a 3hr urban section and a 3hr topo map section. Tim and I did the urban section first, lots of running on the roads and footpaths, we didn't take a great route as there were lots of high pointers near the start and so we got them all first. Ended up running further than we needed to for the points we got. Then a 45min break and onto the topo map. The area was really large for 3hrs and no one really covered much over half of the map. All was well until 45mins into it my knee started to hurt lots. Not sure if it's an ITB problem or something else. The pain is coming from that part of my knee and feels a bit inflamed. Hopefully it will settle down in the next few days and I can work on fixing it. The next 2hrs were just me hobbling round the course collecting a few controls but in quite a lot of pain on the downhills. We ended up 2nd which wasn't too bad an effort.

Think my knee problem may have been due to the 3hrs of road running with a small pack on. Or perhaps swapping shoes for the topo map. The knee felt fine on the road but about 15min into the topo map it started to twinge and then after 45min was really sore.

Mountain Biking 3:30:00 [3] 25.0 km (7.1 kph)

Did the Wakamarina track up by Blenheim with Ian and Al. It's a really cool track with a nice easy uphill start then a little bike carry followed by a technical descent (800m in 2.5km). A few nice crashes by me but no major injuries. Took about 6hrs including stops.

Orienteering 40:00 [3]

Running round at Halswell Quarry putting out controls in the wrong places and then collecting them back in. There is one out there still if anyone feels like swimming out to it. Tim F kindly put it out for me.
