Australian Middle Distance Championships. Complete mess. Missed 10 and 12 by over a minute each because they were hidden and I obviously wasn't being precise - went right past them both. Lost another 45s after the spectator, got distracted. Then compassed poorly on 17 and went right past it to the control on the knoll about 150m away.

Did not feel good, struggled in the soft sand. Got caught by Bun and watched her pretty much disappear into the distance. Garmin told me I needed 68hrs recovery...

Along the "Majestic Murray Path" in Mildura, shaking the legs out before tomorrow. Bit of a let down, the path wasn't really beside the river for a lot of it. Felt possibly worse than yesterday. Tried some half hearted surges.

With Kyhil, re-attempting the disaster route from last week, this time in the light. It was nice, the paths were little more than taped routes through bush, but still pleasant. Felt like a sack of crap, got a little better as we went on, but still a slow lardarse.

O interval training in Parkville organised by Nathan and Joe. First couple of reps not very complex, then an interesting complex bit in the middle. I was useless, barely moving. Struggling to keep up with Jensen and Mila. Navigation sloppy. Off guts as well.

Training on the Whims Holes (previously Karucaruc Creek) map which was a Eureka event recently. Fun area, some good mining detail. Compassed pretty well on most except the long leg where I was specifically trying to practice my compassing :/. Made two mistakes near the end, was frustrated by the second one because I only made it because I was rattled from the first one.

Visited some friends in Carlton last night, and having downed most of a bottle of wine and lost at board games, allowed them to convince Kyhil and I to join them for a session at The Spin Room. Felt tough to start but got into it OK, 3 watts/kg actually feeling pretty cruisy so that's nice.
