Jogging warm up/down 12:58 [3] 2.3 km (5:38 / km)

Orienteering race 1:13:09 [3] 8.2 km (8:55 / km)
ahr:149 max:168

Pre-running the Womens individual course for BUCS, with Kyhil following. Wasn't pushing it at all, also had to wait for Kyhil a few times who was struggling with some of the rougher / rockier / more brambly areas.

Made a small mistake on #1 where I went around the wrong thicket and ended up back on the track. Then made quite a big mistake on #3 trying to read the thickets and reading them incorrectly.

Got pushed around by the undergrowth on the way to #7 and climbed a lot higher than I would have liked to and had to drop quite a way again. #8 was on a thicket in a rocky area - there was only one thicket mapped but many on the ground, and well - I'm sure you've heard enough of my opinion on the Yorkshire area's rock mapping.

#9 I went straight - which was possibly just a terrible choice, because I had to wade through thigh-high brambles and rock rubble for the whole leg. Didn't really make any more mistakes except slightly missing #12 and also choosing a route straight across a "clearing" to #17 (chest high brambles).

Jogging warm up/down 16:07 [3] 3.0 km (5:22 / km)

1 PM

Running intervals 11:02 [5] 2.4 km (4:36 / km)
ahr:171 max:182

6 x Hill Reps in Norfolk Park. Kyhil did 7 shorter hills.

This was pretty nice all around. I was feeling good, the weather was good, it was nice to be out in the light for once, and it was great to have company.

Good session too, was really able to push myself which I haven't been able to for a while.

Jogging warm up/down 29:07 [3] 5.3 km (5:30 / km)

5 PM

Swimming 1:25:00 [3] 4.2 km (20:14 / km)

Good session set for me by the coach. I have been making it up a little bit lately so it was nice to have a structured session.

Cycling 1:40:12 [3] 37.0 km (22.2 kph)

Woke up feeling like crap on a cracker. Went riding anyway, was very slow. It was a really beautiful morning (apart from a bit of a westerly again) so it was a shame that I wasn't really enjoying myself!

Up Rails to the Derbyshire border, then around the west side of Strines, down to Damflask and then back across Stannington onto the A57 home.

Jogging 41:40 [3] 8.0 km (5:13 / km)
ahr:134 max:160

Tonight I wasn't feeling good enough to give justice to a hills session. Decided it would be better quality tomorrow (I have the day off) so the plan is to do them in the middle of the day.

Jogging 1:14:03 [3] 13.8 km (5:22 / km)

Run up over Crookes and down into Rivelin. I took all the right turns on the way out, but I got a bit lost on the way back and came up the hill a fairly random and steep way - luckily I popped out in a field that I recognised and I wasn't too far off course.

I was feeling OK, I am still pretty tentative on my ankle so I was slow-ish on downhills especially (I did tape it). My Garmin gave me some crazy HR readings again.

Beautiful night - 15C so I was in shorts and t-shirt, it was super clear and completely still.

Jogging warm up/down 7:47 [3] 1.6 km (4:52 / km)

Orienteering race 54:02 [4] 10.4 km (5:12 / km)
ahr:164 max:180

Urban night orienteering race from the Fat Cat pub in Kelham Island, the last of Tim's winter nights series.

Really well set course, some really interesting areas. I made some terrible decisions / errors in some tricky areas (especially #8).

I was feeling a bit crap stomach-wise so I didn't keep up the intensity for the whole race - I probably stepped it back a bit from 2/3 through the course.

Guessing at my max HR - I think my Garmin went a bit haywire because it definitely wasn't 207 bpm.

Note
(rest day)

Bit of an off day. One ankle sprained, and I seem to have developed Plantar Fasciitis in my other foot, so I couldn't even limp because there wasn't a not sore foot. Feeling tired and completely out of sorts.

Jogging long 1:57:01 [3] 21.1 km (5:33 / km)
ahr:149 max:167

Caught the bus to Lodge Moor, then ran up to Redmires Reservoir and across to Stanage. Ran North along the edge for about 20 minutes then back, then South for another 10 minutes and back.

I'd actually hoped the bus dropped off a little bit closer to Redmires because I did have about 3km of fairly dull running to and from the Reservoir. Stanage was great fun but pretty tough and very slow going - the north section was crazy muddy / boggy (I fell in up to my thighs and elbows at one point) and the south section was just some epic rock-hopping.

Unfortunately whilst rock hopping I rolled my ankle and because my only way back was by running, I couldn't exactly stop. It doesn't seem too bad but still mad at myself and hoping it's not going to affect running training this week.
