Running (Mixed) long (Fastpacking) 3:05:13 intensity: (1:08:29 @2) + (1:30:25 @3) + (25:32 @4) + (47 @5) 16.14 km (11:28 / km) +1015m 8:44 / km

Warrumbungle wanderings day 3.

Up mount exmouth, more great views after a really nice singletrack climb as reward for firetrail boredom, then back to camp and down to Split Rock which was another great wee singletrack and bare rock loop.

Running (Mixed) 35:11 intensity: (2 @1) + (34:25 @2) + (44 @3) 4.27 km (8:14 / km) +65m 7:39 / km
ahr:106 max:142 shoes: Inov8 Trail Talon 275 (black)

Watch died, final section down off split rock back through the campsites to the car.

Mid right foot pain starting on this bit of the run, and absolute agony after being barefoot showering, limping for the rest of the day but fine the next day with no tenderness to touch. Strange.

Loop around the Breadknife from the hut, with some off track exploring towards the spire & crater bluff. Really nice singletrack off the top, and back along the Dagda shortcut.

Running (Mixed) (Fastpacking) 3:28:22 intensity: (1:17:09 @1) + (1:29:34 @2) + (41:39 @3) 11.84 km (17:36 / km) +724m 13:29 / km

Warrumbungle wanderings day 2

Back along the shortcut track and then towards Mt Exmouth with detours for Bluff Mountain and the arch, more pleasant trails. Decided to leave Exmouth for the following day as we'd have had a long wait for sunset so went and setup camp early, for a change, at Burbie Springs.

Warrumbungle wanderings day 1

As usual a later than planned start, mainly down to faffing and a lazy morning exploring Coolah Tops, meant we had a race against daylight to get to Balor Hut.

Rather dull, heavy duty (paved in places!) trail aside from the sidetrack up Febar & Macha Tor which was tough going in places but provided great views. Hit the stairs to the high tips on darkness and it wasn't as big a climb as expected.

Decided to sleep on some wooden beams under the hut veranda rather than setup the tent, but were woken by climbers arriving at 1am blinding us with torches, then again soon after when they were having difficulty hammering their pegs in. Awoke in the morning to find one asleep in the dirt at our feet, his hammock clearly not comfortable in high wind.
