Empress Canyon from conservation hut. Great fun, been meaning to go canyoning since I got to Oz - taken me far too long. Looks like I'm doing a few more next weekend to make up for it.

Big hot day out in the Blue Mountains with NRG, not enough sleep due to a late arrival thanks to a broken down train and ridiculous overnight temps, but glad of the 6am start to beat the heat and see the sunrise.

Missed the fast group starting due to a toilet stop, so was stuck in the crowds along the cliff tips and descent into Jameson, so pushed on from the sewerworks to try and catch them by the top of Kedumba, and started to do so from the second creek crossing with the final couple passed at the start of the main climb. Was being reasonably sensible on the climbs but pushed pretty hard up Kedumba aside from a couple of photo stops.

As with last time, ate too much at the drinks stop and was reliant on accelerade as I'd forgotten to take my own electrolytes, so stomach struggled along the road section but I'd perked up again when back on the singletrack.

Few crampy twinges on the stairs around Wentworth falls, but felt better after chips & Gatorade at the next drinks point at 30km, but was struggling along the roads from there to the finish on any climbs. Round of icy poles in Katoomba for the final couple of km to the aquatic centre.

Cruisy berry island loop with a wee, much needed dip. Legs feeling ok.
