Out with Andy, Ondrej & Mounty from Freshie, round red hill then back through Manly the "short" way.

Waves were up making getting going out of freshwater slow work, and the beach sections quickly caused calf niggles which never really eased off, and I was fair battling with the climb up onto redhill. For the second week in a row I managed to lose the guys, this time after stopping to take a picture, and was pretty surprised to stumble across them again after a bush bash/meander along the ridge trails given the maze of them up there.

Rest of Red Hill was fine, but was starting to struggle from 16km, and the icy pole break didn't help any either. By the time we crossed the dam my left calf was seizing, my hamstring wasn't far behind, and my right knee was hurting too for good measure. Stopped for water before crossing the highway, and having texted a friend who I was meeting for brunch can't have put the phone back in my pocket properly, as after crossing the lagoon realised I didn't have it any more.

Gave up trying to run once we hit freshwater shops, lower back had also joined in with seizing up and I was slowing the others down too much, but got picked up and went and thankfully retrieved phone from nice chap who'd picked it up and answered call on it.

Not a good day at the office. Probably my least enjoyable "run" for a long time, all reminding me a bit too much of my body falling apart before Copenhagen a few years ago, fed up.

Knee pretty sore and awkward yesterday, had to cycle standing most of the way to and from work, much better today but still slightly swollen.

Cruise round the street o, trying to keep calf happy and mainly succeeded, bit twingey on the climbs up to 8 and from 12, and smashed my left side up when wiping out towards the end, got a good road rash - the curse of the road-x's in the wet, would have been back on time without it.

Anti clockwise route pretty clear, dropped 9 and the far eastern three, few hesitations and wobbles around the circle at 29, 28 and getting out of 18, ran past 15 and then 11, should have checked description.

Over to Centennial in the rain.

Cycling 33:36 [4] 18.9 km (33.7 kph) +125m
ahr:152 max:171 shoes: Kona Jake the Snake '14

5 progressively quicker laps in Centennial, smashed the last one trying to drop a guy on my wheel and only just managed it on the final small rise. Pretty miserable weather out and lots of idiots walking blindly across the roads meant I couldn't really be bothered doing much more, plus not feeling entirely comfortable on the bike.

Cycling warm up/down 16:00 [3] 6.7 km (25.1 kph) +60m
ahr:116 max:169 shoes: Kona Jake the Snake '14

Lap of the park, checked out the slippery dip (good weather for it at least, still tons of folk in their swimmers and big queues!) then over to the KB for some post ride beers.
