Oceania 'Sprint' -

Like many I never got my head into this, no real opportunity to, every decision felt rushed. Was going ok up until the long leg where I just rushed and carried on through the control leading to the long slog up the hill (where the blisters started killing) rather than assessing the options. Was really tough having to look so far out of the way for routes (see also #3). Brain melt on way to 8 where I totally misread map and was looking for a gap by the stairs/garden. Slow around circle at 11, missed path to 12, came out of 13 wrong way. Picked up places on the final third so must have been going ok then, but not overly happy with the overall performance. One hell of a tough course.

Oceania Middle Champs - 5.1km

This was terrible in many respects, and I don't have my map to properly dissect it. Safe to the first two controls then threw away masses amounts of time on #3 (poor concentration, vague) and #5 (poor attack point/running around the circle). Was ok for a while up to the northern end but was labouring with the running and heat. By the return legs I had massive blisters on both heels and was really struggling to keep moving, and not even in the right direction as I haemorrhaged even more time.

Bad day out.
