Orienteering 40:00 [2]

Keystone SP, PA - Early morning existence checks. The same set of controls I hung yesterday so I got the opportunity to attempt the rootstock annihilation. Was only partly successful. Still worried about that control.

Hiking 30:00 [1]

Keystone SP, PA - Removing streamers along the two trails after the courses had cleared.

I always get a little melancholy at the end of these events. After visiting a place for 2 years, you develop a sort of connection to it and it's sad letting that go.

I'm so glad the weekend went off without a hitch. This was a really fun event to be involved with and WPOC (Jim Wolfe especially) did a great job with all of the organizational details. Hopefully there will be some more WPOC A events in the not-too-distant future!

Hiking 40:00 [1]

Deer Lakes County Park, PA - Early morning existence checks. Mostly walking.

Map Reading 1:00:00 [1]

Keystone SP, PA - Hanging controls for Sunday. Took one of the greener sections. Noticed an unmapped rootstock near #67 and made a note to try to beat it into submission before tomorrow's race.

Orienteering 40:00 [2]

Keystone SP, PA - Checking the 17 controls which Ralph graciously offered to hang. Tried to run but it was tough sustaining any momentum - the woods were still wet.

Hiking 30:00 [1]

Keystone SP, PA - Streamering the long walk to the start and hanging 2 remaining controls after coming back from dinner.
