Prince William Forest, VA - US Champs M-45 Red Y course. The extra hour of sleep last night didn't help me any since I lay in bed for 9 hours and never managed to doze off. Seems to be happening more and more before big runs. I wasn't nervous or excited, but I guess the adrenaline was still flowing.

The woods were somewhat more open today but there was still plenty of green to bash through. I wasn't hitting things near as cleanly as yesterday, ended up off line on a couple legs, and had to re-attack on 8. Still, the errors were not huge, totalling maybe 6-7 minutes. Felt like I was battling all the way. Time was still good enough for 2nd place - well behind Tom Hollowell who blew away the field.

Note

Really have to compliment QOC on a superb event. The courses were challenging and interesting, the organization was flawless, even the weather couldn't be improved upon. Many, many thanks to them for all the hard work.
