orienteering 13:09 [5] 3.2 km (4:07 / km)

Urban sprint around the Kåbo neighborhood. Directly adjacent to the lab.

Probably shouldn't be running, as the heel is not all better yet, but honestly, it feels good to get out and move, sometimes what is bad for the body is good for the soul. Winsplits Not sure if I should be more pleased that I was less than 2 minutes behind TGIF or 4 seconds ahead of roar.

This was a fun training race, made easy by the fact that there are so many people working to make orienteering happen in this town. Johan decided that we should put on this training. He converted the map to ISSOM, did a little field checking to get all the newly constructed buildings right, and drew the course. He put the training up on the website, included a link to registration and confirmed that we would use the sportident controls. My responsibility was to print the maps, set up the event in MeOS, hand over the reflective controls and SI units to the control setter, Kate, and just show up at the start. Julia picked up the controls afterward. Not bad for 40 people coming out for a quick training.

I remember when we were living in Boston and CSU would do similar stuff. A group effort to put on a high quality training. Like the training weekends in Pawtuckaway. It feels so nice to be part of something like that!
