Wooo! orienteering. Hopped in a van of sketchy kiwis - well, that's a bit redundant I guess ;) - and set out for tonight's training's bank session. Johan planned a course using permanent controls from this year's Naturpasset and printed the map without trails.

Forest was damp after the rain, and mosquitoes were bad in the parking lot after we had stopped running. Ran pretty hard at the start, keeping up with the group, but peeled off on my own on the way to 3, which was fine until just before the control when I got way off my bearing and made a big arc into the control. Johan was there waiting for some people to run with and so I joined up and Francois after me, and we ran the rest mostly together. I had a questionable route to 4 (I thought I was running straighter, until I ran into the fence) but otherwise I was very satisfied. Fun to run together in beautiful terrain. Great to orienteer again after such a break.

Not feeling very motivated to train today. Tired from jetlag. Joined the Saeger clan at the Uppsala art museum at the castle (free today) and then we wandered into the castle museum as well, where we were allowed to spend the last 15 minutes of the day walking around in that cool old part of the building too.

First club training in quite awhile. An interval set, around stadsskogen on the elljusspÄr. We had a nice little group including visiting dignitaries. Coach ran intervals with us and Judy was mobilized to go collect hittaut checkpoints for Sam.

We did 1'-2'-3'-4'-5'-4'-3'-2'-1' with either 1' or 2' rest between intervals. I felt strong on the first couple, and then needed to work a lot harder to keep even with Johan and Oskar W. Calves tight after this session, no speed for a few weeks and it shows :)

Back from our honeymoon! It was .so. fun. Despite a long travel day, we motivated enough to go for a run. A lap of Stadsskogen. Then a start on the ridding ourselves of jetlag... bedtime!
