Not really 100% healthy yet, but another day without training would have been too much to bear. Running as medicine :)

Quickroute

Johan planned a training in Lunsen with Naturpasset permanent flags for control locations and no trails printed on the map (that doesn't really make a big difference for this part of Lunsen). Started off as a bigger group, and then it quickly became Johan waiting for me at the controls :) We alternated flags and ran at the speed of chatting. I was having a good time, but did not find the orienteering to be easy today, it was hard to focus enough to be super clean. I think my mind was tired and I was being lazy so just running without navigating enough.

The errors on 10, and 16 are mine, Johan was nice enough both times to just let me lead and then relocate before commenting that I had been drifting off the line for quite some time. On the positive side, I led the whole way to the first, and although much of that was along a trail, it was still good orienteering,

Stopped for blueberries a bit near the end. We'd been out a long time, and it was hot and we were hungry and thirsty. The blueberries are pretty amazing just now.

Lovely day in the forest, just what I needed.

Not sure if I should call today a sick day or not. Feeling a lot better today. David called to invite me out with the group to run a Tisdagsbana but I had planned to go into the lab for a bit in the morning, and so I passed.

Met up with them for lunch, and suit shopping downtown, and then spent the evening swimming, playing dice, cooking, eating, and 7 wonders. It feels good to be home.

Disappointing day at work. Realized that my experiment had failed because of a problem with my reagents. Tired and out of it after work. Took a long nap.

Still sick, but much better than Wednesday. Went into the lab, and had a productive day. Then, after work, had sushi and game night. Now I need Sam to come home because we sat down and hashed through the many complicated rules of Mage Knight, fun but long game.

Oh, a hot and dry day today, and starting to feel a bit of a cold/sore throat creeping in at the back of my awareness. Running late, but biked over to the hill in a bit of a rush and was happy to see that the group had not yet left. Josef and David were out to run two laps, but Per was thinking to run just one lap and that was my plan too. Still tired after the week in Switzerland, but also thought that maybe my climbing muscles would respond well.

Started out at a pretty relaxed pace, loping along behind Joffe and David but then on the first climb up the wall, the super steep pebbly and sandy bit, I had a lot of trouble keeping the pace. To stay moving on that hill in these conditions really requires a bit of extra energy, and I was out of juice. Per passed me here too, and then I was trying to keep his back in sight for the next 10 minutes.

Was secretly pleased to see him running back toward me on the path, having just missed a turn, because then I had someone to run with again and we finished the course together, and it was much easier to exert with someone just behind to motivate.

A good effort despite being a slow time, things were pretty overgrown and the climbs were slow in the sand.

Skipped out on swimming at the lake afterward, because I thought it would be best to go home and rest.
