Note

Today's sprint training will feature live GPS tracking using LiveLox for at least a few people I hope. Those who are keen can download the Livelox app, install it, and link to the Sävja Sprint event. Then they simply tap the record button in the app they they begin the sprint, and the audience can watch in real time!

At least one person (me) will be using this. Probably starting at about 17:30 Swedish time. You can follow the live tracking from home. First start (free start) expected to be around 17:00- 17:20.

Event in Livelox

Mats writes great software... it is really easy to set this up.

Note

Took a quick trip down to Sävja to set out some streamers for tomorrow's training session. Set the streamers by bike, to be quick and to stay off of my heel. There will be a sprint in the city this week as moose hunting season began on Monday and the first couple of weeks of the season it is smart to stay out of the woods.

The timing was perfect, as hanging out streamers took exactly the right amount of time between my scheduled times to visit the animal facility.

Rockgympa program. Sadly no Johan, as he is taking a training break until he gets a medical checkup to discover why he passed out while running last week (?!).

It was a great session, but for the second time I realized that the rockgympa music for this program on my phone cuts off the last 2 minutes of the program.

I was in a bit of a hurry as Rockgympa ended at 19.15 and the ESEK meeting started at 19.00 at KG. Elisa and I rushed over... Sam packed me a wonderful dinner box. ESEK meeting was long but productive, we have been improving with our management over the past two years, I think, and are in good shape for the 2017 season. My swedish comprehension got a workout. 9 volunteers in a room can do a lot steer even Sweden's biggest club.

Note

Got out of the house. A slow jog was pretty tolerable, and I headed past the lab to check in on the mice and then down to the station to grab Sam's bike from where she had left it Saturday morning, and return it home to the apartment. While downtown I swung past the Willy's to grab a few groceries.

Later, David and Lovisa invited us over for Fika, and I went to enjoy a couple of quick games of Race for the Galaxy with them and roar.

orienteering race 44:59 [5] 6.5 km (6:55 / km) +105m 6:24 / km

25-Manna. OK Linné Team 3 - Leg 2.

A wonderful event, full of good team spirit. OK Linné sent 6 teams "as usual" to the relay this year, and our teams did really well. Our first team was 6th overall (just 1:31 behind in the end), our second team was 44th, (the second fastest 2nd team) and my team was 97th, (fastest of all the 3rd teams) Our 4th, 5th, and 6th, were also amazing, (team 4 was disqualified when Bo Strand's SI-5 did not register at the first control, but none of the 150 runners mispunched in the heart wrenching fashion of skipping a control or going to the wrong forking).

I had one pretty big error on control 6, where I hesitated when I lost track of the trails, but other than that, I was solid and in control. My foot hurt a lot, and I didn't take enough Ibuprofen, but I am satisfied with my performance considering what I brought to the starting line :)

I will Livelox later.
