Poor timing. Jukola and the surrounding pageantry really does a number.

Jukola with CSU! What a fun weekend. The weather was miserable, but the experience was great fun. More later, but my run was pretty good, apart from a couple of mistakes near the beginning. I think maybe 6 or 7 minutes of mistakes, but very happy with pacing and being able to push hard the whole race. Lost 4 places right at the end when the guys behind me in the forest got out onto the trail and just rocketed past me. Need to put in a bit more training so that I can hunt them down in the finish chute next time.

We bested our bib number (218 < 230) and we were fairly close to catching team Ottawa... which was another goal.

Everything I brought with me was soaked by the end of the weekend, and I stole someone's blue sock, that I found in my sleeping bag when I went to air it out this morning.

Feels good to be back on the track. Snuck out for a break, did not emphasize the warm up or the cool down. Modified the CSU track workout for the week by acknowledging that I am going to need to work my way up to the greater mileage.

4x800, 4x400 with 200m jog active rest between each.

Had the pleasant surprise of seeing Liutas and Anna K down at the track just finishing up a workout. Successful small talk in Swedish!

My times get a lot slower, as the workout progresses. You may not believe me, but it was getting really windy, and I think some of the dropped seconds are due to that. Certainly need to work on my track skills anyway :)

Maybe I can do a better job and coordinate with Cat for more track work this summer. She is running the same speeds as me, and I would enjoy the company...
