Run (Terrain) 1:10:48 [4]
shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw

Friday morning run with Nina around the lovely bits of Beecraigs including Cockleroy. Mud starting to dry out in places but still very boggy in places. Felt good running today and good chat on the way.

Times for this route so far...
12 Jan: 1:20:12
7 Mar: 1:14:11
25 Apr: 1:10:48

Getting faster...

D1 Select Course for the World Schools event at Barr Wood. Went on a big detour from 4-5 having gone from #4 along the wrong re-entrant - hadn't looked at my compass - doh! Also took some dodgy routes through some grot, which slowed me down somewhat and my legs didn't have quite the same bounce having run earlier in the day, also had my tummy rumbling having not eaten since lunch time and it was raining and my hair got in my eyes... apart from all that it was indeed lovely and I enjoyed it all, it was good being out there with nobody to put me off. Fantastic course planned by Stalker Steve, thank you for hanging around in the rain to make sure we got out to try the courses.

Fitness Pilates 1:00:00 [1]

I think I might have overstretched my groin during an exercise as it hurt later whilst orienteering - ouch!

WEE at Abbey Craig. Up down round and round stomp stomp puff puff crunch crunch. Good course - just what you need at the end of a working day. Managed to copy a control on my map on the wrong crag - oops - lost valuable seconds!

BOC Relays at Culbin - even more orienteering heaven as the sun was shining - it doesn't get better than this...

Last leg of Women's Short. Fared better than yesterday at finding the controls, only lost time on three controls but the time lost for each was around two or three minutes each - far too long! I'm still not confident using my compass for rough bearings and find myself stopping often on longer legs to ensure I'm going in the right direction, also keep veering to the right. I never really bothered using my compass much before - strange but true... I could probably do with some practise bearings in training as soon as possible.
