Despite spending my whole day out at the Stumble and considering doing a rec course, I never made it into the woods. Kind of typical for me, I usually end up either helping or running but only rarely both on the same day. The weather was ok if a bit chilly (probably fine for those running) and everybody seemed to have fun. My opinion on seeing the courses was that there weren't enough windows, the windows weren't big enough, and the first window came too late in the course. When I came home I needed a nap (despite not feeling like I did much all day) and then did this.

At the end of the day I checked out the creepy tent that I was convinced must have a dead body inside (saw nobody there all day, on the edge of the field, been there for weeks according to course setter, tarp in front of it had collapsed and old looking pile of firewood). But there was just an air mattress and some clothes and blankets strewn about.

We had another weird experience at the end when some guy came in a truck, got out with his dog, went into woods and disappeared. They came back a while later and he got in the truck and left without the dog. I couldn't believe this dude was just abandoning his dog! I started going to get it but then he came back, chased the dog the whole way across the field almost into the woods with his truck, got out, played with it a bit, and then they both got into the truck and left. So I have no clue what that was all about.

The majority of this was very much a runner's course - but in some places it was not easy to run because there was a lot of mud. Plenty of rain, although once on course I didn't really notice that part. A bit of error on 8, when I lost contact in the scrubby field and popped out on a trail but then went the wrong way while figuring out which trail it was (the one I wanted - but the control was to the left, not the right!). And some bumbling around 10 and 12 where I first got caught up in a bit of deadfall, then chose a bad place to try to walk along the stream and ended up Spidermanning it across a dirt bank where I would have landed in the stream if my spikes didn't hold (they did).

I pushed it as much as possible in the easy parts of the terrain, narrowly squeaking out TGL over Kathy and Lena (they were both within 5 minutes of me).
