DVOA Mt Penn Antietam - Green

A very rocky area, with some scrubby briar patches, and I felt like I wasn't moving well. However, results were ok, so I guess it slowed everyone down.

Biggest issues -

Stupid to 1, just getting into the map, and was on the trail just below it. Stone wall, big bend, massive depression... went into woods then ran back to check control right at the trail (not it, duh) then back into woods where platform was right there.

Below 5, wasn't sure which trail I was on, left from the bend which both had and hit the big trail NW of the control. Circled around it and got it. Probably not much time lost but I wasn't in contact. Going from 5 to 6 I meant to cut across but got pulled over by the sight of stone walls, thinking it was the N trail but it was actually the E trail. Then I got poked in the eye with a stick right before 6 and spent a little time standing there clutching it until it stopped watering enough that I could actually see...

Not at all sure that my far W route from 6 to 7 was best, but sitting here I still don't see an obvious choice.

Lesson on Petie with Missy Ransehousen

My position needs much work (which I already knew). Elbows back, bent, at sides. Stirrups shorter yet, weight & grip in calves. Equal balance on both legs at all times. Shoulders back!

Trying to control several body parts at once when they want to do what muscle memory tells them is HARD.
