DVOA Willows - Score-O

A really fun Score-O on a pretty open/easy map. I picked this one over Greenbelt since I have never had a chance to try this map before and probably won't in the future as it is pretty much only useful for White/Yellow events. I tried to push it and was pleasantly surprised by how much I was able to run. My goal was to see if I could get all the controls within the one hour time limit, and I did it with over 10 minutes to spare.

Control Order: 107, 103, 101, 102, 104, 105, 108, 111, 112, 114, 115, 119, 122, 125, 124, 123, 120, 118, 117, 121, 116, 113, 110, 109, 106

Best pace: 4:11/km

Followed by a yummy lunch at Peace a Pizza with Janet, Corinne, and Guy

DVOA Winter Meeting

manual labor 1:30:00 [1]

Worked half of a day so I could go to the DVOA winter meeting in the evening. Horses were out overnight too so it was an easy stall day. Yay!

horseback riding (english) 30:00 [2]

Riding William in the fun show. Everyone else rode all the classes bareback; I used a saddle because he is tall and has an uncomfortable back. So I had a time penalty in most classes due to this. We did the curry in the bucket race, circular scurry, barrel race, and barrel (pole) bending. The last game was dollar bareback (have to keep the dollar or piece of paper between your leg and the horse's body). For this I did take off the saddle and ride bareback, and actually finished second which is amazing... LOL. We ended up 4th out of 5 overall for the class.

Lesson on William - W/T/C and a cool gymnastic, first with the jumps set as crossrails and then as verticals. Another great lesson!
