Note
(rest day)

At Phil's. Rode the Metro into DC and went to the Newseum, then ate at this cool Brazilian restaurant where the waiters just bring you a constant supply of different types of meat. After that, back out to the suburbs to a bar for awhile.

horseback riding (english) 1:00:00 [2]

Lesson on William. We warmed up trotting in the ring, then went into the woods and rode the trails for awhile, jumped some of the XC jumps, and finished up in the dressage ring on the grass in the front yard. It's fun to get out and do different things once in awhile, and William loves jumping cross-country and gets all hyped up :-)

DVOA Spackman Creek - Green

This is one of my favorite places to orienteer, and also one that I hardly ever get to visit. So I really enjoyed getting out there for today's course. Really only had small navigational errors and was starting to feel a little tired and worn on the way to 12, but aside from that it was a very great day. Mostly nice open terrain except for a few areas of crappy ferns/stiltgrass/other groundcover, but even then the visibility wasn't affected. Moving somewhat slower than I could have, but taking my time to really enjoy the forest.

Saw tons of frogs and toads! And thankfully no bears!
