DVOA Spackman Creek - Green

This is one of my favorite places to orienteer, and also one that I hardly ever get to visit. So I really enjoyed getting out there for today's course. Really only had small navigational errors and was starting to feel a little tired and worn on the way to 12, but aside from that it was a very great day. Mostly nice open terrain except for a few areas of crappy ferns/stiltgrass/other groundcover, but even then the visibility wasn't affected. Moving somewhat slower than I could have, but taking my time to really enjoy the forest.

Saw tons of frogs and toads! And thankfully no bears!

Lancaster Junction Rec. Trail. I did the whole thing out and back and then part of it again. This is a very short trail compared to what we had in York and also the surface is not as nice, so probably slower. Very pleasant evening.

Lesson on William. The ring was muddy so we did only small jumps tonight, and I managed to do some pretty mediocre riding with the occasional moment of semi-brilliance. Ha. My back only felt a little sore while riding and strangely enough it now feels a lot better.

Dozens of bats flying around when I walked William out to the pasture, swooping right down near us. Very cool.

My lower back was killing me yesterday, causing me to be quite cranky overall. I put an IcyHot patch on it and was careful how I slept, and it feels somewhat better today though not 100%. I decided to try taking a walk, and this did loosen it up a little more. Hoping to feel even better tomorrow so I can ride on Thurs and orienteer this weekend.
