Springtime in Shropshire, Day Two - Nash Woods
M50, 4th place.
Glad of the run to the start to get moving a bit, but definitely weary!
Enjoyed it despite the various slightly random aspects around dodgy mapping, controls in bracken, etc.....for the most part coped with them not too badly but not too well either, but then my marathon genes came out and the relief of running along a forest road for a bit meant I stayed on it far too long. Even further than I thought when I did realise, so initially went into the wrong block when I tried to correct! 4mins lost there (Charlie passed me here), plus the other bits and bobs did total maybe another 5mins.
Charlie 60, Clive 64, Nigel 66. Fiona Bunn ran 53:59 and put us all to shame!

Springtime in Shropshire Day 1, The Long Mynd .
M50, 3rd place
Nigel Bunn 40:25, Clive 40:55.
Pleasant run round but very straightforward, main danger control was #6 which I was pleased to see after never seeing the path we had to cross beforehand, nor making sense of the veg mapping.
Legs okay but a little tired still, okay to run decently hard but not to race. Also much more sore afterwards than they would be normally...hopefully okay for what looks like a steep area tomorrow...

Bit of jogging about checking no one too far astray at FVO World Orienteering Day event at Laigh Hills.
Thought about wearing my nice comfy inov8s, until I tried putting them on...toes still too sore for that!
