Note

Not the greatest training week - supposed to be easier after the race last Sunday but failed to plan what should happen when, and ended up with too many very short runs as well as unplanned rest day.

Failure to plan weekend properly meant I failed to go and support Graeme's BGR attempt on Saturday (congrats again Graeme!), and then decided at short notice to switch Sunday long run to Monday. Need to plan next week better as there are a lot of travel days to work around.....

Supposed to be an easy day. Failed to plan though and ran out of time so rest day joker instead.

Sneaked in a little'un before the Event Safety Course. And then sneaked in a cheeky pint and the rest of the pub quiz at the William Wallace afterwards. Pretty sure we won the Thomas The Tank Engine round of the quiz. Sure we won the wordplay round. Pretty sure we were last in the music round. Decided best not to analyse our results too closely.

Also was picked out of the hat at the end of the evening for the chance to scoop the (separate) pot for the raffle rollover quiz. Although as recently won, the pot was £15 not the £200 of two weeks ago. Didn't know where the annual Golowan festival is held (sorry Scott!) so their £15 was safe.

Missed out on the FVO session through Carron Valley windblow in the pouring rain but managed a nice road run in the dry instead!

Steady 9 miles out and back along the Carse road, with 10 x 100m strides on the way back starting every 500m.

Right ankle grumbling a bit towards the end, seems a bit rigid so some calf/ankle work needed.

Came out of the cimena (Senna - awesome) and found the weather had deigned to offer a short window in the torrential rain. Took it and ran up to Ross and Fi's. Felt very virtuous.

This one was definitely at recovery run pace! Although not quite as slow as it seems - experimented with a new cut-through from Leckie to Knock o'Ronald but it was not a big success and I had to bash uphill through some gorse and then green forest to the track I usually use. Not sure why I didn't just hop into the field and run across that!

Legs felt really not too bad this morning plus probably helpful to have physio this morning, but soreness gradually setting into quads in particular by the evening - hopefully this run will keep the worst of it at bay.....
