Mountain walking 7:00:00 [1] 23.0 km (18:16 / km) +1000m 15:00 / km
shoes: Apr 2010 VJ Falcon

Up to the Fannichs today, up An Coileachan and Meall Gorm and then back with MC and SJ while the others went on to Sgurr Mor and Beinn Liath Mhor.

Ground frozen solid with loads of water ice, river flowing but with vast chunks of ice strewn along the bank, the 7km long Loch Glascarnoch frozen solid, but again very little snow anywhere. Quite good conditions for the walk in as it would have been pretty boggy otherwise - apparently quite tricky on Sgurr Mor though.

Walked in my VJs to protect my feet - pretty ideal for the conditions as it turned out. Think that is 140 Munros now.

Jon M planned a cheeky hagaby race round Loch Vaa and I somehow managed to get my emperor-sized hangover round it with only one mistake and slightly quicker than Ian and Ollie. Couldn't outsprint Pat though and 8 mins behind Ed.

Loved it though, terrain is so runnable out there at the moment.

Orienteering 1:30:48 [3] 9.63 km (9:26 / km) +400m 7:48 / km
shoes: Apr 2010 VJ Falcon

Total quality night orienteering session round Docharn and Deishar, no flags out, all controls on boulders. Pretty pleased with how I was orienteering and fantastic and runnable out there, need to get in there more often. Brilliant start to the New Year.

Mountain walking 4:40:00 [1] 13.0 km (21:32 / km) +920m 15:55 / km
shoes: walking boots

Up Ben Wyvis with MC, Pat, Ollie, Jon M, Ed, Phil (and Wellington). Amazingly little snow but pretty foul on the ridge in 50+ mph winds.

Problems with my newish boots :( They are maybe a touch too narrow and my right foot was suffering badly under the metatarsals, very sore on the rocky stuff.

Running 52:16 [3] 7.0 km (7:28 / km) +341m 6:00 / km
shoes: Apr 2010 VJ Falcon

Miserable day in Gargunnock but found myself above the cloud after a few minutes - to see a sea of white mist clinging to the Carse with multiple snowy peaks above and beyond it, all framed by a pink/orange sunset. So worth going out!
