Boxing Day Canter

Determined not to run hard and to protect my Achilles. Managed it where this meant a little bit of walking in the rougher terrain, and even though this mean I had to let Sarah Rollins (twice) and Roger T (thrice) cruise away from me on the course.

Luckily my slow pace let me choose a good route and some wily tactics to get all the bonus unmapped controls (Xmas tree plus roving elves and roving Santa). A surprising 5th place of 189, better than I have sometimes managed uninjured - and, hilariously, ahead of both Sarah and Roger!

Last chance to get up Melbury Beacon this year, parked high and trotted up gently by headtorch. Very enjoyable. Achilles not ready for climbs yet though.

Lots of walking and some gentle jogging for control hanging/collecting at my night race. Great to see a bunch of the Ochil Mountain Rescue team along for some nav practice. Thanks to them and everyone else for coming :)
