Orienteering race (HOC National M20L) 1:22:24 [5] 10.4 km (7:55 / km)
shoes: Walsh PB trainer new

At Brown Clee Hill
Started off poorly and couldn't get my head around the 'distinct' and 'indistinct' vegetation boundaries. Continued to muck up 2 and 3. Pretty good from 8 through to 14. After this was pretty dehydrated and already had huge blisters. Took the long route to number 17 so I could take my shoes off to run along the path. Had to put shoes back on again through the woods at the end.

Suprisingly still came 2nd, although 8 mins behind Peter. Reckon I could have been 5 mins quicker without blisters. Taking account of the heat as well probably wasn't that bad.

Orienteering race (UK Cup final sprint) 17:06 [5] 2.9 km (5:54 / km)
shoes: Walsh PB trainer

Around Shrewsbury
Pretty good run except for number 5. Got wayliad by some traffic on the main road so missed the alleyway. Went down the next one so probs lost about 45 secs. The rest was ok..... a few wrong looks up the wrong alleys (usually shops!).
Came 25th.

Orienteering (UK Cup Final middle) 56:28 [5] 6.1 km (9:15 / km) +270m 7:35 / km
shoes: Walsh PB trainer new

At Weston Heath.
Really pants run. Wasn't helped by the fact that I started 30 mins after the first start. Just the obvious paths had been cut through the bracken in and out of the controls. Tried to take my own routes but it meant bashing the bracken down myself.

Got cramp at number 8 and could barely run after that. 5 min mistake at number 6 plus other small mistakes.

Came 47th.
