Orienteering race 40:34 [4] ***
17c shoes: VJ Supra, sz 11

JK relay, Tyrella South. Running the M120+ class with Paul and John Rye (which made us non-comp). First leg. The funny thing was that the M120+ was identical to, and started with, the Men's Premier. I didn't twig that until afterwards, thinking we were in different races and running a shorter course, but it wasn't so. I like the idea of lumping together classes like that (and telling them so!). It has more of a big race feel starting with 100 teams. The course was faster than Sat and a real burn-up, but struggling a bit for speed. A few mistakes too.

Orienteering race 1:01:58 [4] ***
23c shoes: VJ Supra, sz 11

JK day 2, Slieve Croob, M40L. Fast open mountainside with enough to think about to keep it fun. Another solid run with just a few dithers but no real mistakes.

Orienteering race 1:11:29 [4] ***
27c shoes: VJ Supra, sz 11

JK day 1, Tyrella south, M40L. Open dune terrain and very enjoyable. A good, solid run with a few less good controls but no real mistakes. Maybe it tracked up a bit and got faster later on, but running well and very happy with 5th.

Event: JK 2011

Orienteering race 15:03 [4]
25c shoes: Inov8 roclite 315, size 11

JK sprint, Stranmillis, M40L. Pretty intense sprint terrain with the usual buildings, paths, flower beds and blind alleys. 25 controls in 15 mins doesn't leave much time to think, so decided to not bother reading descriptions, except for things like which side of an uncrossable wall, and that seemed to work pretty well. Mostly a good run, though some moments of confusion and one big mistake (for a sprint), heading off up the wrong road on 23 and losing 40 sec.
